Cars, they are special aren’t they? Well, I would say they’re special. For some, it is a hobby, for some it’s just a tool to move around without getting wet under the rain and some, like me, it provides a living ;).

Little did I anticipated, I would land a job in automotive industry , a month after submitting my undergraduate thesis. At that instant, I knew how lucky I was to be able to land a job. I never decided on the industry I would join, while my friends and acquaintances looked for a higher paying job (they being practical anyway) and some , sadly, they struggled to sustain an existing job.

Why automotive? I started to love cars more than ever since the Top Gear dented my tiny “universe”. I looked around for many resources, only to look at the beautiful creations by human. The sound of engine revs, the curves or sharp edges, the gear knobs ( I have no idea what it reminded me) and shockingly I learnt about the driving wheels (wheels-driven). There I decided to become an automotive engineer, one of the closest person to create cars and probably on the right track now.
So, how did this happened? Let me rewind to year 2005. A friend told me about this car called Buggati and it got me like , what the hell is that bruh. Back then I knew brands like Mitsubishi (dad had one), Honda, Proton or Toyota. Sometime later I saw Kia’s and Naza’s around. Of course I knew Perodua too. Now, he introduced me to this show called Top Gear, compelling me to watch it. Well, I started watching it, and it only awestruck me. How noob I was to learn about the other part of automotive. Little DVD only knew Ferrari as the fastest car until he learnt about SSC’s , Pagani, and of course the Veyron.
Did I picked automotive or vice versa? Hang on a sec, I am still a newbie to this industry. I wouldn’t want anyone to see me blowing my own trumpet in this writing. And to answer your question, universe set me up with automotive weii. In my senior year, I lived a true engineering graduate life, working on a robot, ground up. The process of doing that, I loved it. I mean, you would love to see your sketches come to “life” don’t you. Hence, again as a soon-to-be graduate, I looked for jobs that required designing and developing stuffs. Meanwhile I snuck in my CV to some automotive giants and minions in Malaysia. Of all those applications, Bufori Motor Car Co. gave me the opportunity to be the person I wanted to be back in 200X. So, universe set me up guys.

What am I doing now? Now, DVD is following the flow of universe, continuing to “make” cars for you people to drive around with beloved ones. The only difference, previously I helped to make cars for one or two people in the world. Now, I help to make cars for thousands of us around the world.
