Buying First Car

This writing is basically from my experience and readings done prior to buying my own car. My opinions & thoughts can contradict yours, so jangan kecam.Firstly, I dedicate this to my fellow fresh graduate friends or colleagues who had landed their first job or venture. Following are the points to consider before buying a car.

MONEY. This is definitely something you must look into before owning a car. Consider the following, your ability to pay monthly installments, maintenance which includes fuel, spare part & miscellaneous, insurance/road-tax and more. Can you sustain the bills with your current income? Don’t believe those pictures on social medias which recommends cars based on salary, I think its BS.

DESIRE. Ultimately, we all have desire to drive fancy cars and undeniably to impress others too. Not many drive fancy cars at a young age to impress themselves. Some desire speed, some look at brands (pfft) and some have no idea why are they even desiring it, peer pressure maybe..

SAFETY. You could be the decent driver or the other one. Many are ambiguous like me. I drive decently when I have passengers and the opposite if I am alone. So safety is definitely important for me and all of us. ABS, EBD, SRS, are fundamental features these days, unless you tend to buy a muscle. Look into these things and how they could help you in daily driving.

QUALITY. Quality is said to be good if your senses are appreciating the product. The car feels good, sounds good, smells good and looks good. If it tastes good, then you need to consult some mental health professionals. Features like soft touch materials, leathers, hard plastics, great displays, excellent speaker sounds are meant to be assessed finally after a series of test drives of your shortlisted candidates. Mind you, greater quality could mean higher monthly installments.

Finally, take note that driving a Maivee in third lane, flashing at Beemers doesn’t make you a good driver. You’re only a danger to yourself and others. Drive a car as it was meant to, so that it lasts longer and you probably can pass it on to your kids.
